Written by someone who owed himself the work.
StatementKeep started with one person, several legal entities, and a close that ate the first week of every month. This is the story, told with only mild exaggeration.
The pain, briefly.
Our founder ran a few businesses, which sounds impressive until you count the logins. About thirty institutions. Roughly sixty-nine accounts across several entities. Banks, store cards, mortgages, auto loans, merchant processors, rental platforms, utilities, insurance. Square and Stripe alone split into checking, credit, and loans, each with its own portal and its own opinions about passwords.
Closing the books meant reconciling every one of them against its statement: beginning balance, ending balance, statement date. Three numbers, printed on a PDF, sitting behind a login. So month end became an evening of portal-hopping, followed by typing what he found into QuickBooks.
The portals did not help. Most keep six to eight months, then the statements simply leave. The paper backups lived in banker’s boxes, which is a fine place for them right up until an auditor asks a question.

Fetched by hand. Again.

The number that was never there.
The obvious fix was the bank feed. It was not a fix. Feeds carry transactions, and they carry them well; Plaid does too. What no feed carries is the statement, and the ending balance you reconcile against is printed on the statement. That is not a gap anyone is going to close. It is what a feed is.
Our founder writes software, so the answer was obvious and only slightly unhinged: build the robot this job deserves. It signs in, fetches the statement, reads the balances and the statement date off it, converts the transactions to a QuickBooks-ready CSV, and files the PDF as the audit trail behind the number.
That is still how it works: one login at a time, one connector at a time. We add institutions by hand, carefully, and prove each one on real statements before we call it supported. If the archive comes back empty, we say so; a missing statement reported as a success would be worse than no robot at all.
We are on a mission to end the night of portal-fetching.
Security is the product
Credentials are sealed in a per-customer vault from the moment you type them, and statements are encrypted in flight and at rest. Support sees something only when you grant it, for a window you choose.
Your data, your control
Sharing is read-only and revocable, and accountant seats are free. Export everything, any time. We keep records for you, not from you.
The close is the point
Getting a document out of a portal is not judgment work, and it is not what an owner or a controller is for. Our job is to have it already waiting, and then be unremarkable.
How we handle your information is written down, in plain language, in our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.
Take the evening back.
Connect your first account free. The statements start arriving the same day, with the balances your close has to tie to.
